psi, all good logical points. The key however is not whether the deposit is going to be mined today, or even tomorrow. But whether an international buyer believes that the deposit has true value over time, and wants to CONTROL its extraction rather than rely on the international market to screw them on price.
My guess is that there are plenty of potential buyers of this deposit, and some willing to pay a good price for it too.
