I am actually a biger fan of the A380 due to massive noise reductions and lower cabin pressure altitude. Also break even load factor configurations ensure that the operating costs per hour are reduced.
The 777 is a fine aircraft though.
I have flown in all types, mostly large helicopters, but when flying internationally i have flown in Air Brazillias, Fockers (yes some still have them), Airbus, Boeing etc, both in charter and ordinary paying passenger.
The best service i ever had was 1st class (i did not pay)on an Emirates A330 from Sydney to Bahrain via Dubai and Singapore. This was during SARS outbreak.
When i arrived in Dubai, they held my connecting flight to Bahrain up so i could join the flight. I was 1 of 2 passengers on that leg (6am local). When i arrived in Bahrain Emirates had the latest Mercedes take me to my apartment. As my bags did not make it on the connecting flight, they had them delivered to me.
I have also flown in aircraft that have forced me to pray that we will land in 1 piece. lol
