Looking at the exemple on "slm pushing the limits . com" :
In inconel : 120kg in 69 hours -> 15tons a year
Aluminium Alsi10 : 15.5 in 21 hours -> 6.5 tons a year
This is the reality of this additive manufacturing process. Its made for highly complex part with high added value and for small to medium serial production.
It has never been meant to replace traditional machining, casting, injection molding. It is complementary and it has its own market.
Thats why I'm saying that it is crucial that industrials understand this limitation and find the right business cases. And they exists for sure !
And thats also why I'm saying 1000kg per day is questionable.
