Do you think they are internally lending them to more active internal fund so in effect over the group they reduced exposure and actively profited on such move? No notoification of change of interest as each fund is treated independently. They could take create a income flow in one fund and still hold exposure ( plus top up of lending fee) in the other. No exposure to having shares called in at a inopportune moment. Take advantage of any softness in market and with added awareness of Quarter reporting and likelyhood of what events are to be shown on quarterlys. With volume avaliable any over eager retail entry / exit in market can easily be squashed and can use volume and deep pockets to play long term as well. . Long term main fund still has exposure but group gets income on side.
When it all unwinds if positive news happens the main fund can sell into or accumulate controlling price and finally covering creates monentum and volume.
