re: 55c short term target soaring 16percent Short of the second half profit being "substantially" above what the company has already announced to the market (not likely given the ASX continuous reporting requirements) then a dividend of 3c would not be covered by earnings.
Such a move would likely be viewed negatively by the market and probably damage investor sentiment.
