I don't know whether an offer of 57 cents is a good thing for SDL. I believe that a lot of punter / investors have been in this stock for a long time and is very keen to sell down on their exposure. So with just a 7 cents premium on the 50 cents offer, it is just a slap in the face. So I don't really know whether the SP would react positively or negatively to this news. Bear in mind that the market has more or less price in a 50 cents offer.

In the past, I have held a huge qty of SDL shares. However base on current market turmoil, I have recently sold out because Hanlong 50cents offer is not much of an upside compared to the downside if market plummet. Anyway this is just my opinion and it is up to you to DYOR. There are other stocks which are currently very cheap and has much more upside than a measly 7 cents premium.
