The nonsense about Basa has been going on for years. Today Tonight did a story 7 years ago and since then there's been numerous hoaxes and emails sent to people with misinformation. This is usually perpetrated by big business seafood interests especially US catfish suppliers, because their business is being taken away.
The videos you see by googling that are local Vietnamese fish farms. None of those fish get anywhere near export, let alone to us.
It seems it is easier just to believe garbage you read, but it really is not hard to find the facts. Do you really think a country with such strict food and quarantine laws like Australia would let fish like that brought into the country???
Here is what a real processing plant looks like. Pretty much the same as our processing plants. There are only a few major operators in a billion dollar business, not Mo Nguyen and his family feeding a few dirty fish.
