Entering the index means there are certain funds that must buy (it is in their mandate). The issue becomes what do they do with these shares? The majority will lend them out to shorters and that can have a negative impact on the SP. A good example of this is ASM. They are very similar in what they are doing although maybe 12 months ahead.They quickly entered the index and the price went from $2 to $14 but from that point they have been bent over and shafted by the shorters all the way back down to $2.5.The saving grace (or difference) between the two is shares on offer as ASM only have 147 mill and can be easily manipulated.I will be buying at some point on monday but over the next few months I will be taking profits when available if I notice the shorters getting keen. Do not fall in love with a stock
