DT is without a doubt a superb business person. the question is how will Tuas finance a 5G rollout?
other Singaporean carriers are launching 5G products and TUA won’t be able to compete without a 5G offering. It would be like a low cost carrier offering 3G services.
while there might be efficiencies in Singapore, it will still cost any carrier billions to rollout 5G.
what can DT do here? MVNO on 5G? But that would destroy economics. Sell the biz? But the government won’t like that and would prefer competition.
there are almost no moves left besides rolling out 5G independently.
what are your thoughts?
