I don't think the upward move indicates a good result is forthcoming at all, just recovering the losses from the panic selling (as you also said).
Result inline with their recent presentations would be expected, they rammed down our throats when the merger went through.
From my perspective, the negative views are very much welcomed, creates a more robust discussion, and I for one do more research when a thread is more active (with negative views) to assure myself of my conviction.
