5k for 18 yrs where to put it

    Hi all

    If you were investing $5,000 for a kid (1 yr old) in a stock (or number of stocks) with no intention of trading them for 18 yrs (to pay for uni house deposit etc) where would you put it?!?!

    I ask now as I think in 18 yrs time we will look back on this market and think it to be amazingly cheap!

    I'm thinking BHP / RIO or some banks....any other thoughts?
