btw i got my license in a town that didn't have any traffic lights, etc. so the local policeman had to say to me, "it's a yellow light" and i said "what??? it's miss sweet". and then he said "now it's a red light" and i said "what are you talking about??? i can't see anything... is she still on the road??? oh my god.. where did she go???"

incidentally miss sweet was at least 90 (bearing in mind i was 17 at the time) but quite astonishingly nippy and knew my mum.

if anyone interested i took 2 years to get my license and that was not an isolated event. personally i think being made to imagine road conditions does not make for a stable driving career.
