a2 is running a brilliant strategy. The IF supply to Australia has been effectively constrained to only slightly more than 2018, whilst the supply to Hong Kong and China has been increased by more than 150%. This means a2 is maximising its revenue from its top of the line platinum product Chinese label with lactoferrin, and forcing the daigou's to compete in Australia to get product. The medium term implication is that because of shortages of Australian sourced product they will wean over time Chinese mums and dads away from daigou product to the higher priced and premium lactoferrin product. Get them started on the cheaper line and then make sure that line is difficult but not impossible to get and shift them over to Chinese landed product - all the time high growth in unit consumption and in revenue per unit.
