And 56,000 metric tons of brine to pump out of the ground, process with an assortment of chemicals and then pump back. If the lithium produced could be sold for $21,000 a ton, it might make a 20% profit. At $12,000 a ton, they lose money on every liter, but they make up for it by selling hopes and dreams to unwary investors.
