NC may have needed the money ($13m) to exercise (later) his 9m options he gave himself last year. Exercise price of $1.09 so he is in the money by approx $10m already after 6 months. Greedy in my opinion, especially at the AGM when he stated options granted to non Exec's he got the message it won't happen again. The MESSAGE was to HIM and if you go back over the years all the options that were given to him at such low exercise prices was just ridiculous.
