    Yes, but as has been said so many times already, since TLS and the banks etc are bought for and priced on their yield then likely they will still be yielding 6% if they hit $1 a share.

    In other words the falling share prices are reflective of the markets expectation of falling dividends in $ terms.

    So if you are buying for %age yields in this market you will most likely lose on dividend $'s AND share price (but you will still be getting your 6% or whatever...).

    Its a pea and thimble trick that works well for the brokers as it sucks in older retirees who need dividend yields for income.
