Put a post in Economics about Minister Chris Bowen (pipe dream?) for Australia to install 40 large wind turbines a month and 22,000 solar panels a day- "The 82 per cent renewables share is the key component of the government’s now legislated emissions reduction target of 43 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030. And it will be key to future tougher targets too because a decarbonised grid is key to cutting emissions in other sectors of the economy. But the scale of what needs to be achieved in the electricity sector alone is staggering, and all – as Bowen points out – in just 87 months."
Given the choice of 90% of land being used for that staggering number of Wind and Solar and uncosted new high voltage transmission line criss crossing Australia I suspect 99% of Australian will want to consider Nuclear.
Add that power Demand is growing and that's unlikely to stop making even the current odd plans for billions of Solar panels and hundreds of thousands of Wind generators covering the whole of our country.
I am not anti wind and Solar. Just my thoughts on economic reality of course.
