This is an important post. Restrictions on Avobenzone are perhaps even more beneficial to us than restrictions on Oxybenzone. My understanding is that Avobenzone is the only chemical that covers UVA rays, which you need in your chemical formulations if you want to claim broad spectrum protection. As mineral alternatives cover the whole spectrum and ANO is actively addressing the drawbacks of various flavors of zinc oxide (transparency, particle size, cost), its making more and more sense to just use one active ingredient, that is if you can get your hands on enough of it.
