No, we need to have an upper house as a check against any excesses of executive government which is from the House of Representatives.

I like to see our Constitution amended to not allow any ministers from the senate and also to reduce the term of senators. 6 years term for senators is too long. I wouldn't like the term of senators to be the same as the House of Representatives though.

If we remove party politics from the Senate, I am not sure how that is going to work. Our Senate currently is a very powerful upper house, it has the same powers as the house, except it cannot originate and amend money bills.

This is an unresolved area for me. re how best to make the Senate serves the people better.
