    I would certainly support a 4 year term and could even be coaxed to 5 years. 6 years is too far in my opinion, even with a recall.

    At the risk of a hijack, I would also suggest several other changes to parliamentary function that I see going hand in hand with electoral terms:
    - fixed elections like NSW
    - recall of politicians (say 10-15% of electors needed)
    - NO ministers in senate, it's a house of review
    - ALL legislation starts in House of Reps and senate reviews and either passes or rejects
    - double dissolution: automatic dissolution of both houses on the second rejection conditions being met with the election 4 weeks latter.

    I will leave other suggestions for another thread/time.
