    NS: two issues.
    a) contaminated soil under the car park can only be cleansed by running the soil through the TDU. This drives the HCB's off in a gaseous form which is collected and then destroyed. ORI are sucking out the waste water and treating that, but there's going to be contaminants in the soil that can only be removed by digging all the stuff up. It's a big job for TOX and would be a great one for them to win, should it become available. However TOX would have to then send teh HCB concentrate that they've extracted from the soil to other parties for destruction. see point b)

    b) The drums. A major, major project for anyone who can demonstrate how to destroy HCBs. No one knows how to do this as no one has got a sample from Orica. TOX has been trying for years to get a sample from them. BCD technologies worked with TOX on this. ORI have also got the scale to find some technology and put their own plant in. But they'd either have to invent something or license plasma arch technology from someone in the USA or Europe. Perhaps BCD could do it but their processing can only handle 50kg per hour...60,000 barrels would take 4.8m hours (550 years!) to treat.

ORI have to do something big and very, very expensive to destroy this stuff. It could cost them hundreds of millions of dollars.

    Going back to point a)
This problem is so big that it is likely that ORI will deal with the EPA for ORI to treat all the waste on site with their own custom built plant...so TOX may not get a deal in any of it....

This is the problem that TOX has with a number of similar jobs...they are so expensive for their potential clients to deal with that there's inertia on the issue. If one can be convinced to do the job, then that's got the ball rollling. THe most important thing now is that it's a big public issue thanks to 60 minutes and this may precipitate business for TOX.
