Unbelievable stupidity that will see the end of 60 Minutes IMHO and the incarceration (in squalid conditions) of their crew for many years to come.

A key point here is that the Grandmother who said she was pistol whipped is the mother of AMAL Chairman Nabid Berri (who is also the Speaker of Lebanon's Parliament) so what happens now is a matter of Lebanese honour and respect. In a few mouse clicks, 60 Minutes would have known this and also know that Amal currently cooperates with Hizbollah AND there would be extremely tight security around the Berri family. AMAL is also linked to the Fattah movement in Palestine and by the end of the Lebanise Civil War AMAL reported controlled a 16,000 strong militia.

Where did they recruit this so called rescue commando from? A card in a Weetbix box?

My guess is that due to the possible intervention of the Berri family, Sally Faulkner will get off lightly. The same cannot be said of either the rescue team or the 60 minutes team as it will be held by the court that Nabid Berri's mother was pistol whipped and that the 60 Minutes crew paid for this to happen.
