60 Minutes ran a story on Sunday night- it was heartbreaking. Three sisters with a particularly strong familial history of cancer. Each of them with their own courageous story. Sadly , the youngest of the three is now in the advanced stages of ovarian cancer. She is just 32 and has a 10 year old son. Clearly she has the inner fortitude, support and determination to fight it with everything she has- but there is no denying she has the fight of her life on her hands.
I have thought of that woman every day this week. There are soon many out there like her. Every one of them in incredible physical, spiritual and emotional pain.
I hope with every part of me that Prima can bring this treatment home.
Yes, it will line many pockets. That's great. But we all know who the true winners will be.
