600 Million New Jobs Needed Over 15 Years To Sustain Global Economy: World Bank
According to the World Development Report 2013 (http://econ.worldbank.org/external/default/main?contentMDK=23044836&theSitePK=8258025&piPK=8258412&pagePK=8258258) , around 200 million people around the world are now unemployed – of which 40 percent are under the age of 25.
"The youth challenge alone is staggering," said Report Director Martin Rama in a statement cited by MoneyControl (http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/world-news/global-economy-needs-to-create-600m-new-jobsworld-bank_764250.html).
"More than 620 million young people are neither working nor studying. Just to keep employment rates constant, the worldwide number of jobs will have to increase by around 600 million over a 15-year period,” he said."
