Yeah, but the Taliban aren't daft. They'll milk the oil while they can but they're also sitting on top of one of the planet's largest undeveloped lithium resources - a 2010 US Department of Commerce report described Afghanistan as the 'Saudi Arabia of Lithium' (a moniker that has been requisitioned by holders of a certain other ASX lithium play in the DRC since!). I have no doubt the Chinese will be knocking on their front door holding flowers and chocolates very soon!
No matter, at the rate that demand will soon start to outstrip supply, there will be plenty of takers to go round!
