I went to look at a hi set home a few weeks ago, had been “renovated” but half the internal walls were asbestos plus the roof.
Nice block of land in good area but the cost of doing a proper reno and extension would be exorbitant.
The agent who should have, and probably did know of the problems was not impressed when I pointed out the problems as the price he was asking was what you would pay for a BV in the area
So it is easy to over capitalize if you don’t take care.
Unless you can do all the work yourself it’s not worthwhile in this climate
