"their answer is everyone should find their own meaning of what it is to be an Australian"

Politicians - especially those of the socialist viewpoint - will discourage and ignore this question because to answer it definitively is to define a sense of nationalism, of pride in what and who we are as a nation.

This is counterproductive to the cause of socialism, which discourages free-thinking questioning of the order.

If these questions were put to the people as a referendum, there would not be a snowflakes chance in hell of it passing.

Our only chance for our way of life to survive is to increase the strength of the smaller parties, and to ensure the survival of the Bicarmeral system of Government.

You will note that the disposal of the Senate from the Queensland Government has for decades resulted in the failure of all Governments in that state to have checks and balances, and that each governing entity (in my memory at least) has been rocked with scandal, impropriety and cronyism.

The Rudd Government clearly wishes to dispose of the Senate in the Federal government, and would no doubt attempt to do so, if he had control of it.

So, before you vote in the next election, consider most thoroughly the future of our great country.

    Stu
