This is what we've been looking for ...
Melbourne, Victoria – 13 March, 2008 – Ansearch (ASX: ANH), a leading online and
search solutions company, announced an exclusive arrangement with NAVTEQ that allows
Ansearch to represent the NAVTEQ Direct Access™ solution for location based advertising
in Australia and New Zealand.
NAVTEQ is a leading global provider of location-based map data for mobile and Global
Positioning System (GPS) navigation systems. Under the agreement Ansearch will work with
leading Australia and New Zealand retail businesses to enable their brands and store
locations to appear on NAVTEQ maps used by in-car navigation systems, personal
navigation systems and GPS-enabled mobile phones.
The technology, better known as “location based advertising”, allows retailers to connect
with consumers when consumers are actively searching for products and services in their
immediate vicinity via their satellite navigation system or mobile phone.
As an example, the Direct Access program will allow fast food outlets to plot all their stores,
major banks to plot all their auto teller machines and other brands to display their presence
on electronic maps. In the future, other information will be able to be appended to the basic
logo listing that will allow the display of opening hours or current offers.
The Direct Access Program has enjoyed success in Europe and North America, securing
advocacy from a number of global brands including BP, McDonalds and Starbucks amongst
others. As GPS Satellite Navigation (SatNav) continues to grow rapidly, and with the
volumes anticipated through GPS Smartphone launches, Ansearch is embracing this unique
and significant opportunity to offer brand communication to mobile consumers.
Ansearch’s new CEO, David Burden said, “The NAVTEQ 4 year exclusive agreement is a
great win for our growing media division. It allows us to commercialise retail location

information across Australia and New Zealand on the growing number of NAVTEQ equipped
devices. Navigation, mobile and location based information services for mobile devices are
just starting to explode globally, and any big brand that attracts walk-in customers can no
longer afford to be without a presence on a map when their competitors are there. Nokia’s
recent acquisition of NAVTEQ further spells out the importance of this mobile play.“
Ansearch’s acting Chairman, Andrew Barlow said “Its fantastic that we can tap into David
Burden’s mobile experience immediately and close this exciting opportunity with NAVTEQ.
Within the first seven weeks the new Ansearch management team led by David has
executed a large number of changes that will have a positive impact on the future of the
Company”.
It is expected that the NAVTEQ agreement will be EBITDA positive within the first 12
months.
