Ocean data coverage prior to the mid 90s is also sparse.
The ocean data is a nonsense. It cannot be valid when it is plainly infilled and obviously guesswork with Ship buckets and poor quality temp gauges on engine manifold inlets used as some form of quality data.
What data was available show for the northern hemisphere showed real warming. A major pain in the arse for alarmist and thus subsequently wiped from existence. Luckily historical accounts still keep the observations of yesteryear still alive.
