Very interesting thoughts. Edwards is just starting the pivotal trial on it's next generation Sapien X4, which is estimated to be completed in 2025, so that would have to figure in somehow. Maybe as a hedge or a chance to knock Medtronic almost completely out of the market.
Medtronic seems to me like the odd man out at this point and likeliest suitor of the two (although we don't have any data on the performance of the Sapien X4 to compare it to the DurAVR). Medtronic rolled out its new delivery system recently because the Evolut has been so difficult for surgeons to place but even with that the ComASUR system alone seems like it would be a big upgrade for them, not to mention the DurAVR.
