Hi GiddyYup
Shhheeeeeeeesh. Thanks old boy - seriously I am busy, and seriously your 'candour' is 'absolutely' appreciated. If you are right, then it kinda feels like the boy and the master, and the boy's name doesn't start with a G? Obviously your 'spelled out' scenario has unpleasant connotations in the extreme for the average shareholder?
Look it's never been my style to head for the razorblades in the bathroom (joking). I have always been aware that the real world is usually ugly or at least not pretty - but in this case I assume there are a bunch of very experienced shareholders that would be looking at a different outcome - otherwise we might as well all move up to that lonely fisherman's hut I found near Cooktown a few years ago!
You did say - "things might go in a very different direction and I could be completely wrong about everything. I hope I am wrong because I make nothing if I am right but I could still make a nice tidy profit if I'm wrong".
I don't know if you really believed that, but personally I imagine this is what shareholders have to hope i.e. that you (and us) will still make a nice tidy profit. Unfortunately I don't much like 'hope' as a tactic - I would prefer to see some hard scenarios outlined so that the show may be 'demonstrated' to be heading for a different outcome - one that DOES feature the shareholders in the sunset, or should I say at the new dawn? I must repeat that all the body language and rapport I've seen and experienced at public shareholder meetings over a lot of years has most definitely had a theme where shareholders ARE there at the new dawn!
Over to the wider Forum for some more learned input? Pity BRR wasn't around these days, as I would sure like to hear his ideas in light of your stated thoughts. IMHO the situation does seem to need a Company announcement or two in the New Year to hopefully indicate why you might be wrong, and thus retain some wider shareholder confidence?
