unlikely for AMP - more likely they are just exiting a long position. I would suggest such selling overhang by a sig holder has a far bigger effect on the price than shorters...
I'm not say short position don't have an effect - rather this is way over played in the market. very easy to blame the evil faceless shorts than to consider that ACR is being sold down due to a combination of risk aversion to growth/biotechs, FDA overhand and associate law suits and general market concern over this firms one product exposure (ACR management please take a bow!!).... the real prospect of it exiting the asx200 is also a factor here.

remember TLS way back in the sub 2.60's days... not a direct comparison as TLS has sig less risk due to size diversification, business model, barriers to entry etc - but was similar in the fact it has a big overhang from the Future fund selldown, govt certainty from NBN and general market negativity about this name... what price is it now?

just saying that the market is not always rational - liquidity, market perception and the risk overhangs can depress market prices despite clear strong fundamentals underpinning a firm.

Is ACR cheap - no doubt. Will the price rebound most possibly... but as for when its a patience game :-)

Name calling and making fun of shareholders using posthoc analysis of price only is childish and simple thinking... this forum is for the benefit of idea and information exchange - and yes, constructive criticism...
