Anyone catch the 7.30 report tonight (details should be on website http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/ by morning) .... not focused at all on medicvision but detailed the case for medical simulation saving lives and certainly gives a nod to MVH's surgical training centre model .... trauma device in particular has a role here as do our design and fit outs.

The show detailed a case at Dandenong hospital where a bloke died after staff procedures failed; claimed there could well be 18,000 hospital deaths a year from 'adverse events' ie: medical error.

The Doctor at Dandenong (a victim of medical error himself some years ago) has helped establish new medical teams to respond to emergency situations. Said staff needed to practice in simulated environments; showed some great images of staff in a simulated environment dealing with cardiac arrest situations ... a well equipped centre that looked like a radio studio with trainers overseeing the work and feeding the staff tasks (wonder if MVH installed?) ; The program claimed that Dandenong hospital has been able to lower its cardiac arrest deaths from 90 to 12 (per year?) in the decade the system has been operating.

Hope the feds were watching .... training is their big go and mandated re-training is the way the UK has gone for health professionals ... hold those shares .... revenues may be slower than anticipated but it will be an exciting few years for medicvision i reckon.
