I would guess the next DEO would be somebody with experience in getting a mine up and running.
Gilly was a geologist, and did a great job getting SHP to the JORC and feasibility phase. Job done. I hope he has plenty of stock/options so he can profit from his good work.
What will be interesting will be to see any board changes. If there are additions in project commissioning expertise, or if there are any high end experts in acquisitions/mergers etc - that will indicate the direction the company might be looking to head.
- if project delivery then they are looking to commission the start of mining themselves
- If business acquisition/merger type person then they may be looking at being bought out.
I'm looking for the second of these to happen. Cashed up big fish will be circling out there looking to acquire bargains.
