I have thought about this for a while and I generally agree with your sentiment. However, statistically speaking there is a huge dropout rate at the phase II and III trials with the FDA. Even Graeme Kaufman acknowledged the potential for disappointments in the trial process. I think, however, that if Cephalon is willing to lay down $150,000,000 I might well be justified in expecting good things to come out of the FDA process.

So with this and other considerations in mind I am more than willing to stick with Mesoblast throughout the trial phase and beyond. Am I 100% confident that all the applications will pass FDA approval? Not quite. I just don't think it is wise to expect every application to pass the FDA without a glitch. It's good to optimistic but one must be prepared for whatever comes - good or bad.
