Even if the imaginary SMRs achieve commercial viability some day they have missed the boat in Australia.
Renewables are advancing that quickly that an SMR would have to be significantly better to replace established renewables.
They can't match renewables on price in 2024. The renewable train has left the station and has disappeared over the horizon.
SMRs are a nuclear plant. They have all the problems of a nuclear plant .
That means they need strict security and sophisticated support . lf they fail they will be an environmental mess.
SMRs have no chance in Australia.
