I've been to Dangar falls. I saw a hydraulic ram that was installed near there. I'm a great believer in using hydraulic rams to pump water and have had one myself on the Severn River near Glen Innes years ago. Low cost and almost maintenance free. River flows are an energy source that is underused. It still works when the sun doesn't shine and the wind doesn't blow. Another one that could be harvested is tidal flow. There was an effort at one stage to install tidal flow generators in the Clarence River but along with having a dam on that river it was blocked by rabid green protests.
