Interesting to see the increase in Corporate Bond exposure over say the last five years. Before it was non existent but has steadily been creeping up. They were never one to chase the yield and always believed they were an underwriting company and would make the money there. Now they are trying both.
The other issue that they have never been able to address is the US. It is a big part of their business and they have never been able to get a return on it. In the 2023 release it is again unprofitable even though over the last few years they keep trying to dumb it down / de-risk / focus.
With US insurers reporting fat profits maybe one of them want to buy QBE's US business!
