There’s been talk last year or so of merger with Bendigo bank as both would extract synergies and combine as 2 regional banks to increase foot print against big 4, also BOQ and Suncorp making sense as both are Queensland based.
Lastly, Macquarie Bank being cash rich and able to unlock a sizeable war chest for a purchase / takeover.
