People can talk all they want about negative gearing being removed. But it will never happen!

It allows investors to purchase properties to be utilised by renters. If this was removed prices would be driven down and renters would be able to become buyers.

But at what risk. It would start a depression, the older generation would lose all their super over night, investors would go bankrupt, developers would go bust, blue collar workers would not find work and young kids looking for work would be fighting against experience for work.

Unfortunately the risk is far to high and impacts far too many for the sake of lower income earners.

At the end of the day, you don't punish the successful and reward the unsuccessful!
