Next week the Survey of the West Coast of Africa should be finished and Judging by the equipment available to Shell and EMGS and on board the Boa Thalassa the decision to either go or no go could be decided as early as next week with the computing power of 70 Trillion calculations per second any senerio can be configured within hours so IMO its not a matter of how long will SHELL take to make a decision but how early will we hear their decision .

    Solution....
By placing a high performance computing (HPC) cluster directly on its boat, engineers now analyze the seismic data at sea, as soon as it is gathered.

Electromagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) has increased its electromagnetic data processing and modelling capabilities by more than trebling the number of Dell blade servers in its computing cluster. The company’s original cluster was already the largest in the EM sector. In March 2008, 1300 new blade servers (each with two dual-core CPUs) were added to the 500 existing servers to create what is believed to be one of Europe's most powerful clusters.
The cluster is theoretically capable of a staggering 70 trillion calculations per second (or 70 teraFLOPS), and has 22TB of memory, which is the equivalent of more than 20,000 standard PCs.
