The US economy is so big people seem to forget how quickly it can go from deficit to surplus.
with the US$700bn they'll buy around US$3 trillion of debt. If they keep it to maturity they can likely make a big profit from this. Although it is doubtful they'll want to keep it until maturity. Until then they should still be able to collect yield.
