At what point does one wake up and realize that the continuing border closures between any state or territory will not stop the ultimate spread of the current or future variant of this or indeed any future disease despite political decisions. Just try to stop a flood across a twin town spreading - perhaps a politician such as Mr. McGowan should lead the way.

However, what it does stop is interaction of humans, business dealings and facilitates small business closures and loss of livelihoods as well as the continuation of supply disruptions, labor shortages, cost pressures and cancellation of events and/or limitation of visitation to venues and visitation of overseas tourists, workers and backpackers and of course visitation into other states by locals. Not high enough in (not in - period) political circles but one would think it is high time to change tack - but of course wishful thinking and pigs may learn to fly sooner.
