Peter, you are very wrong with the hedge funds. I work in the industry and deal with corporate actions. Last month alone funds lost 100 billion to redemptions, and in australia redemptions are being rationed out, for example some funds may only pay 5 percent per month until the cash is fully redemmed. Our company has lost about 30 percent of its funds under management in the past month due to redemptions. These funds are not well cashed up, and rumours are we within the industry that a lot of funds are on the knifes edge. Next week will be a very telling week, make no mistake the risks are huge and they are very real.
