And your loose shoe laces would wind around the crank as you peddled along , you couldn't peddle backwards (fixed wheel) so you just had to roll to the footpath (as the laces became so tight your feet wouldn't come out of your shoes) and then fall off with the bike (like in laugh-in) still attached to your feet , then try and unwind the shoelaces from the crank.
