25 British companies to probe Egypt's available investment opportunities


Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif yesterday met with Chairman of the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce (EBCC) for cooperation talks.

Following the meeting, Cabinet spokesman Magdi Radi quoted Prime Minister Dr. Nazif as saying that cooperation ties in petrochemicals, communications and auto parts manufacture must be strengthened.

For his part, Blatherwick hailed the recent customs tariff reductions and efforts to streamline investment procedures.

Blatherwick announced that the EBCC will hold a conference in London to market the Egyptian communications and petrochemicals projects.

Representatives from 25 British communications companies will be visiting the Smart Village in January, Blatherwick said, adding that they will probe the available investment opportunities in Egypt."

Meanwhile, Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade, Dr. Rasheed Mohamed Rasheed met with Blatherwick to discuss means to activate the Egyptian-European Union Association Agreement and gear the local economy to the needs of international markets.
