Thanks for those links guys - it's getting a bit harder to keep the lid on the enthusiasm now I'm sure Garnaut is backing geothermal in general and GDY in particular to get the sorts of emissions cuts the government is looking for.
I don't think it's a coincidence that GDY was the company focused on in the report this close to proving concept. No, the reporters have been talking to Garnaut and government insiders and the dots join up at Innaminka.
If Garnaut didn't have something like geothermal up his sleeve (we know he hasn't got nuclear), it would be a lot tougher to take such a hard line with the coal-fired industry re compensation and demand such huge reductions in emissions.
Have to wait and see I guess but things are surely looking up.
