What i was asking is does RIO pursue a line in terms of acquiring mining and exploration related technology that is new and proven when it takes up new sites or does it even have a active R and D program to support its operations.

As a larger company they would more than likley start as pilot projects and then if proven to be cheaper or finding more quality reserves incorparated across its operations over say a 2 year implementation and upgrade cycle.
