I understand that TV2U has the potential through potential Talico granted licencing in the future to enter a commercialised IOT opportunity that presents itself. Alan Boyd is the likely facilitator of such an opportunity and China is his dominant sphere of influence and so likely opportunity.

IOT and AI are the next digital revolution that will completely redefine how we understand technology itself and society itself and our role in that setting. Its a paradigm shift like none before and the social impact is all-encompassing and may do good and harm at the same time.

The analytics generating moment-to-moment footprint each of us will create around us as our wearable technology, bring your own device technologies, artificial structures we enter or are proximity to, plus all the resources we consume, will be immersed in IOT sensors and data analytics generating instances.

Personalisation of this will bring Big Brother capability down to each one of us to exist which China is expected to want and to jealousy guard as a critical State and military and commercial asset. They already monitor as much as possible of citizens home and abroad.

Such critical military overseen activity is not likely to be trusted outside PLA State controlled entities and Chinese will tell you that trusted Westerners are trusted just so far. Remember that IOT brings the ability for the most intrusive, invasive and most widespread hacking or data analytics harvesting, or worse the industrial espionage sabotaging of not just devices but of a single person, whole sectors, cities or countries to become achievable.

In the future you could track a person through their data and digital footprint and find a vulnerability in their profile via one of the many new IOT devices we will over time normalise as indispensible or simply the new replacement for current industrial era processes or technologies.

Imagine hacking someones smart watch which gathers data from your sweat and manipulate the data to produce a false alert of some medical condition that means your Blender on the kitchen bench pulls in some new level of proscribed drug in reaction to that modified data, or you simply hack the blender to dispense more medicine into the smoothy, and that smoothy that is waiting for you as you enter your smart home then overdoses and kills you.

Science fiction? not at all. The takeover of technology by remote operators in the IOT ecosystem becomes real possibility so in the future home breakins might be done by hacking that opens your front door to the burglar with a smartphone rather than a jemmy bar.

I research this stuff out of interest as I follow innovation trends and trust me there is a dark side to the enormous potential to what is already happening within IOT and AI. Legal and ethical frameworks take years to catchup.

Security bodies are already debating how not if how to deal with the future capability to kill or do surveillance remotely in the future. This is all military grade technology once it goes beyond home smart centres that turn off and on lights and assist in centralising remotely smart devices within the home.

CASBAA thought opinion was of the sentiment that engagement of key people like the Alan Boyds of the world will occur but the technologies that deeply penetrate this space will be Chinese. The Chinese already have built their own internet as they do not trust Western technologies but want and need them at the same time.

I totally get the strategic nature of Alan Boyd and at whatever level the Chinese will let outsiders in to their new IOT world he is well placed to achieve but I read the research that makes deep penetration of China by Western IOT providers somewhat problematic.

Boyd's thought leadership and wise counsel may be be then implemented by local technology. The Chinese already have all have IVAN documents that are in the public domain and they boast that any technology can be reverse engineered or re-implemented by them anyway.

Notice that we already see Huwai being accused of sending data out of its devices and hardware switches back to China, and Kapersky Internet virus software accused of doing the same back to Russia.

We exist in a highly militarised tech world without really appreciating how these technology pieces are weapons of a war that is already in progress and is likely to only grow in the AI/IOT era. TV2U is certainly well placed to exploit IVAN for IOT analytics but that capability is not the delimiter here IMO but the nature of the world it needs to operate in quite well may set limits on how far its use in at least China is adopted.

Personally I feel IOT commercialisation will occur with TV2U but there may be less obstacles to deep adoption in more open democratic societies. Its a great space to be an early adopter in.

All IMO. No drugs were consumed before or during creating this post!!
