It is the glory (not the son) as only begotten by the side of the Father.
John 17:22 - And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: (one in word = Unity).
The glory being referred to here is word, full of grace and truth. 17:8 - For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have receivedthem, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me. 17:17 - Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
"forth" = out of the mouth of the God and Father -> Luke, via the Angel to Mary. Isa 55:10, 11 Like, let there be light.......... -------------- John 1:2 This was in beginning (ongoing, in progress) = toward the God. What is the "this" = logos/plan within the God in 1:1b
"this" is the ONLY word option in this verse and "this" is NOT referring to a person being with the God.
1:3 shows that part of the logos/plan has been expressed by Yehowah alone and by himself Isa 44:24.
1:3 All things were made by it (him/word) and nothing that was made was made without it = Gens.
1:4 In it (Him Father) life was = his inner logos, spirit and life and that life was the light of men = his now expressed logos. Psa 119:105.
The first 13 verse are all about the Father and his word, which Jesus picks up and runs with it, as he repeatedly says.
If Jesus was the Word 1:1, he would be speaking of himself and not the Fathers words.
And the Word became flesh, hmmmmmmm John 6:63 - It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh (words) profits nothing. The words that I speak (Fathers) to you are spirit, andtheyare life.
